Diabetics at Village Inn

Village Inn is a tough place for diabetics, and you must be extra cautious while ordering food at the Village Inn, especially if you're a diabetic. The food items low in sodium are high in sugar or cholesterol at Village Inn which makes it difficult for diabetics to choose the right food at the diner.

Foods to Avoid at Village Inn for Diabetics

Village Inn offers very few items edible for diabetics without any threat. You can avoid sandwiches and burgers at Village Inn and try the light breakfast items on the menu. You must also skip the shakes as well as other juices from the beverage menu. Almost all the dinner items on the menu are high in sodium except Grilled Tilapia and 6 oz. Top Sirloin & Toast. Food here is always great and served quickly. The service is usually good as well, but today got Jen and she's a little slow on the service side, waited 10 minutes before I got a drink refill

Good for breakfast, perhaps not the place for a first date if you are hoping to have a second date. Waitress was pleasant and attentive.

The food was good, but the service was tied for worst experience in my life. I came here with my family, in town for a wedding. It was four of us and we ordered a mixture of sandwiches and salads. After about 40 min after arriving, we realized we hadn't seen our server in a while, as soon as we could start commenting, she came out looking and asked for clarification on one of the orders. We weren't too worried since it was a salad, so we figure we'd see it in the next few minutes. 25 min later our glasses were empty and again our server was nowhere to be found. By this point we had noticed that two other tables which came in at the same time and after us had already eaten and left! When we couldn't find our server I flagged another one who was cleaning the table next to us, and told her we were leaving because time had ran out for us, and we had been there over an hour! I think our server had forgotten to put our order in, but that doesn't explain why she never checked on us, or give us some idea of how much longer we would need to wait. We never got an apology and I think we shocked the server we told when I told her the story in about two sentences. We left a few bucks for the drinks we had consumed and went to a fast food place next door.

This was the worst experience ever. The waitress, Rene, waited on purpose to put our order in, as 3 tables came in 15 minutes after us, they got served as we didn't, FOR AN HOUR! So we left, then when I called the General Manger, she accused me of cursing at the waitress. Way to go how to victimize me twice!!!!! SO now Im getting on every site I can and leaving this message. DO NOT EAT AT THIS PLACE IN NORTH SALT LAKE CITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you have trouble you will get accused of something, so watch out for not only Rene the waitress but the General Manager as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The worst service I've EVER had at any restaurant! Waited an hour and a half for hot chocolate and 5 slices of pie..... I almost walked out without paying. They probably wouldn't have even noticed.

First thought? What the f*%# is going on? VI 5 stars? Umm, uhhh, I a, huh? But, I'm kind of feeling myself slightly understanding why. Our waitress was very Friendly, patient and attentive. Really, a very welcome experience. She had a fancy braided hair-do, too. Alas, it is village in and tastes as such. Not really a culinary experience worth writing a letter to your mother about. But our waitress put a little polish on this turd. And by the way, best apple pie topped with cheddar cheese I've ever tasted. Amen.

I'm giving this three stars only because I normally enjoy coming to village inn. Just not this one. I will say the staff is very attentive and friendly. The restaurant however seems off. The food was just warm not hot. And didn't taste good. Like it had all been frozen to long...The iced tea was like soap water and nothing seemed right. New waiters are never a good mix with not great food...I won't say more. He was a nice kid and trying. Anyway. I didn't like it here. And won't go back..shrugs.

Wow, they have completely redesigned the interior and it looks great. That said, although the food was exactly as I expected and the decor dazzles, the service and food portions were lacking. Not a bad option for a cheap late weekend breakfast, but do not expect fast or to walk away full!

We used to eat here often. Not anymore. Yesterday your manager harassed a nursing mom. Unacceptable. We won't be back until a public apology is issued.

This place is the worst Village Inn I have been to! We have been here 3 different times to give it a chance. I believe everyone and everything has it's bad days. Just walked out of there. We waited about 20 mins when told it was going to be 5. I am patient so not a big deal. Then when get seated we then get ignored no water no acknowledgement. I understand being busy but this was over the top. The first time we went the server was new and got my order wrong. The second time they got my wife's order wrong. This can all be overseen but today was the last straw. Once I walked out I took time to speak to the GM and voiced my 3 experiences. She made 3 excuses. 1.I had a big group (My Family is 7 of us) 2.She had 3 servers call out and 3.They was busy. Then after that I got a weak "I am sorry" never again will my family or anyone else I can talk into not going there. We are a family of 7 and our tickets are not small so we spend some serious money. So now we drove way out our way to somewhere who deserves my families time and money Penny Ann's on Main Street.

We come here a lot, they are close to home and easy to get to. The foods pretty good and the service is good too! Plus they are always open when we go there!

Awful service every time I've gone in. I've started ordering out which has worked much better up until yesterday. I ordered a to go order, I got there and it wasn't ready. Apparently they ran out of something for my meal and didn't bother calling me. The manager very rudely told me I'd have to order something else after I'd been waiting for another ten minutes. I wasn't offered anything for all the inconvenience, I got what I originally ordered and it tasted terrible. Worst service ive ever had.

I came her twice, once late at night and once during the day time. In short, it's like a Denny's with pie. Our late night venture was pretty terrible. They have a limited night menu and only one waitress to serve around 6 tables throughout the night, so service was slow and minimal. We ordered a few things: fried chicken sandwich with bacon and tomato soup, burger with a side a fruit, and a peanut butter chocolate pie. The chicken sandwich wasn't very good. The soup was okay. The patty in the burger was tiny, as was the side of fruit. The pie was way too sweet. The service and food was much better during the day time. We ordered a double burger with a side a chili and fries, an omelette with hashbrowns and a side of pancakes, and some miscellaneous drinks. The burger patties were much larger this time, and I wasn't able to finish my hamburger because it was so big. The red chili was okay. The fries were not very good for fries, but it's pretty hard to have bad fries. The pancakes were good. The service was much better since there were multiple waitresses on shift.

Generally love vi's because they are amazing but holy crap. The service is terrible: short staffed, 3-time 30-minute wait just to get food crap pie slices too

Sweet waitress gave my girls free ice cream and coloring books! It's typical Diner food, so don't expect less or more. But it's friendly, clean, and gets the tummy-filling job done.
